About Me

My story starts the same way as those of bilingual kids.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Jumbled Spanglish

defined my childhood — and the consequent, perpetual

action of untying semi-coherent thoughts into fruitful sentences.

So what's the secret to untangling? Focusing on words.

More specifically, who am I speaking to? Am I speaking to my widowed grandmother who's lived in Puerto Rico since 1944 — and has decades-old pictures to prove it? Or am I speaking to my A.P. English teacher Ms. Patterson, where in every anecdote she shared in class, she lived in a different Midwestern state?

While this was at first a necessity (because obviously, I want to communicate with other human beings), the practice because easier. And, may I dare say it, it became fascinating. My collection of books reached the ceilings, and writing quickly became my most potent tool.

With nothing to lose and everything to gain (the best way to make decisions, by the way), I sharpened my pencil at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. And I fell in love with what I do.

In December 2022, I graduated with summa cum laude honors and a passion for using copy to express stories, ideas and brand identity. Because expressing my own multidimensional identity is rooted in the same practice.

Beyond writing (both in copy and public relations), I've discovered my passions for brand building, including social media and graphic design principles. With each new surprise, my role as a writer becomes clearer. And, most importantly, I'm always looking forward to what the future has in store.

Bite-Sized Fun Facts

I was born and raised in both Carolina and Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. I love meeting other Latinos and get giddy whenever someone I meet also speaks Spanish.

Rom-com books are my not-so-guilty pleasure, and my closet shelves are a testament to that. But interestingly enough, I don't extend the same liking to rom-com movies.

I have a pet bucket list, or a list of pets I eventually want to have in my lifetime. Moral of the story: give your children some childhood pets.

I absolutely love making Spotify playlists. My favorites: "songs to have a car crash in," and "70 degree weather."

It's virtually impossible for me to walk past a Sephora or Ulta and not buy something. Buying unecessary beauty products is an addiction I desperately need to break.

In 2019, I moved to Orlando, Fla. to study at the University of Central Florida. Now it's my second home.

But Enough About Me...
